Pairs anyone?

The pairs classes (in-hand and ridden) at the Southern Show are both open to entries on the day and we'll be delighted to find you a partner if you'd like to take part but haven't a pair.

There are special rosettes in the in-hand pairs for the best pair by the same sire and the best pair out of the same dam (rosettes kindly sponsored by Denise Bumford - many thanks Denise!).  There are quite a few ponies entered this year who share a parent - check the catalogue to see if your pony has any rel...

Special rosettes - sponsors needed

One of the great things about the Southern Show (at least if you like bright shiny rosettes) is that it is theoretically possible to go into at least one class and come out with five rosettes (special rosette for the first person to e-mail me and tell me which class and which rosettes).

These special rosettes all need sponsors, so now is your chance to get your name in the catalogue.  Sponsorship opportunities are as follows:

Please return your trophies!

One of the great things about the Southern Show is that it is well endowed with trophies, and all you have to do is win almost any class and you can take home a trophy already engraved with lots of well-known Fell prefixes from years past which will then sit proudly on your mantlepiece for the next year, impressing your friends.

This means of course, that those of you who took home trophies last year need to remember to bring them back for this year's show, just in case you don't win them agai...

Pre-show meal

It's become something of a southern Fell tradition to have a pre-show meal before each of our big Fell shows, as people often have very long journeys to get to the show and so arrive the day before.  The meal provides a good opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet new ones, and anybody who is coming to the Southern for the first time shouldn't feel shy about going to the meal - there'll be plenty of people happy to talk Fell ponies all night with you!
